How to know if your dog is pregnant and how to take care of her?
I have a male and female dog. The Female is a chihuahua/jack russell mix and the male is a chihuahua/dachshund mix, The male is shorter than the female but bulkier. they connected twice, but the male was only 9 months old. The female is a year and a half and she was in her second heat. I know she is probably pregnant cuz she is gaining weight, but I have started feeding her more and puppy food at that. So, I also thought she could just be getting fat.. haha.. It happened around August 1st the first connection, and the second a few days after. Didn't mean for it to happen, I was keeping them away from each other ALL the time.. but the 5 minutes they were together.. in passing for a bathroom run (and i turned my back) it happened. Yes, and the second time it was the same (I should have learned the first time). So, now i'm wondering about puppies and if she will be ok. I don't need to hear all the “you should have got her fixed” and such. I just would like to know how to tell and when she will probably have them. If I had enough money to take her to the vet I would, but I don't. So please, I just need some advice.
