Does my dog have a fever?

My dog's ears are pinker in color and warmer. I think he has a fever, but besides his ears there is no other indication. My dad says he doesn't compared to the symtoms listed here: http://www.vetinfo.com/dog-fever.html . Is the pinker color and warmth a symthom?
